San Diego, CA Urban / Mixed Use
Project Design Consultants provided civil engineering and landscape architectural services for The Legend, in San Diego’s East Village directly north of Petco Park. The Legend is a multi-use development including shops, restaurants, condominium tower, renovation of the historic Kvass Construction building and reconstruction of the historic Station A building.
Civil Engineering services included preparation of tentative map waiver, public improvement plans and grading plans. In addition, PDC prepared and processed a parcel map and owner’s participation agreement exhibits.
Landscape services included courtyards accessed from the street were designed for the restaurants, shops and an entry to the condominium tower. The historical KVASS building has become a vital part of the community with a roof deck amenity including planters, artificial turf area, and an arbor to provide shade for outdoor eating, while viewing Petco Park. The condominium tower includes a pool, spa, covered eating area with barbeques, raised planters, custom detailed water features and a fireplace. The streetscape blends in nicely with historic buildings and new development. Plans were prepared based on the Center City Development Corporation’s Ball Park District plan. The Legend is a mixed-use project that is changing the appearance of downtown San Diego.
